ISAAC’S EYE
by Lucas Hnath
directed by Clyde Simon

opening Fri, March 20
running Thu-Sat at 8 pm thru April 11

As a young man, Isaac Newton inserted a needle into his tear duct to the back of his eye. No one knows why, or what he was trying to prove by
this risky behavior. Hnath has used this weird factoid, actual historical events, and a whole bunch of made-up stuff involving Isaac’s sort-of girlfriend and a startlingly lecherous Sir Robert Hooke, to create a truly quirky look at what drove the brilliant but troubled farm boy, Isaac, to become one of the world’s greatest thinkers.
