CONVERGENCE IN THE NEWS

CROSS THE THRESHOLD

convergence-continuum’s artistic home is the intimate performance space known as The Liminis . Its name was created from an ancient word meaning “threshold.” It is a space between two realities. The Liminis is transfigured for every production, so that when you cross its threshold, you leave behind the conventional reality of everyday life, and are immersed within the unique world of the play to experience it close-up, from the inside.

This season we invite you to cross the threshold with us, to venture into five unique realms of the mind, body and spirit and experience their wit, wonder, terrors, triumphs, laughter, love and so much more.

Sex, drugs & science in the 17th century!

ISAAC’S EYE
by Lucas Hnath
directed by Clyde Simon

opening Fri, March 20
running Thu-Sat at 8 pm thru April 11

As a young man, Isaac Newton inserted a needle into his tear duct to the back of his eye. No one knows why, or what he was trying to prove by
this risky behavior. Hnath has used this weird factoid, actual historical events, and a whole bunch of made-up stuff involving Isaac’s sort-of girlfriend and a startlingly lecherous Sir Robert Hooke, to create a truly quirky look at what drove the brilliant but troubled farm boy, Isaac, to become one of the world’s greatest thinkers.
