(CLEVELAND, OHIO – May 2025). Convergence-continuum continues its 2025 season with the world premiere of Death Cruise 2020 by Christopher Johnston.

Passengers aboard the cruise ship Halcyon Daze find themselves trapped at sea when the "unknown pneumonia" infecting the public is discovered to be a new virus called COVID-19. As it rapidly spreads, survivors find themselves either quarantined in their cabins, or free to roam the ship--at their own risk. To ease the rising tension, the ship's Captain orders one of its medical staff, Achebe, to form a grief group for passengers. Those who join include Ghost, a Vietnam veteran; Lorena, a woman trying to recover from personal trauma; Juanita, who wrestles with her faith; Ricky, a young man who is obsessed with 70's rock music; and Nick, a stand-up comic who also serves as the ship's Cruise Director. They don't know when they can escape the shipboard corona chaos that ensues, when they will ever set foot on dry land, and why they are all having intense dreams inhabited by scary puppets. But as they say, "Bon Voyage!"

Featuring Tamicka Scruggs, Katrice Monee Headd, Ben Blankenship, John Lynch, Monica Zach and Matthew Zitelli. Directed by Alison Garrigan
